Who Is Ryan?

    Ryan and I haven't been friends very long, but when we met, we became fast friends. My first year of quizzing was when I really got to know him. Then he started coming to our homeschool group and we began attending the same church. Alexis, Ryan and I decided against being a part of the black light puppetry class and my mother taught a writing class for just the three of us.
    Inside the writing class I really got to know Ryan. We came up with plenty of confusing stories and the characters were frequently used in our conversations. The especially popular ones were Joe the Unicorn and Steve my imaginary boyfriend.
    Ryan is Micah's younger brother and joins me in the effort of calling Micah, Francis. This came out of another confusing effort from the writing class, which ended with all three of us onstage singing a song we wrote about the 20th premier of Quebec.
    We also helped teach a class for the little children at our homeschool group which turned out to be fun. Around that time, Ryan and I were also hanging out with each other at bible quizzing and finished side by side in the final standings.
    Having just shared another season of bible quizzing, as well as an eventful year at our homeschool group, our friendship continues to develop.
    One of my favorite things about Ryan is his imagination. He has a knack for coming up with stories of fictional places in seconds. These reasons (along with a landslide of others) are why I consider Ryan one of my close friends.

Who is Jane?

    Jane is my sweet little sister who has a quick temper and a mind of her own. When she was a toddler, Claire and I would remove her from her playpen and then play with all her toys.
    She was forced to accommodate our needs because we were older. However, she could keep up. When she was learning to walk, Claire and I helped her along by pushing her back and forth across the room to one another.
    As she got older she fell in love with animals. Our barn cats have become her babies. She tends to all their needs and one of the first places you should look when searching for Jane is outside with her kitties.
    Also a lover of sports, her lanky build makes it easy for her to compete with me in that area. Even though she is only eleven, she is nearly as tall as I am and I am okay with that, because I would rather not grow very much taller anyway.
    Jane and Claire are continually clashing, because their personalities are so similar and Jane and I have had our fights as well; but in the end she's my little sis and I can't stay mad at her forever.
    The quiet, shy personality type she uses to portray herself in public is rather misleading. A determined, rambunctious, fun-loving eleven year old attitude at home are her dominant behavior traits.

Who is Nicole?

    Nicole is Nathaniel's younger sister and Jane's best friend. The two of them are over always scheming and figuring out the best way to get over to each other's houses. Nicole is also the one who told me to write this post about her. :)
    I would say she enters into the category of adopted younger sister. She and Jane are always cooking up something or other which makes me like her even more, because I like food, but hate cooking.
    Another plus to Nicole is that she is interested in fashion...or at least she pretends she is. Whenever I get a new edition to my wardrobe, I sit her down and show her each piece in detail. I thought she was ignoring me, but I wore one of my new shirts and she pointed out to me where I got it. (To say the least, I was impressed.)
    Nicole has a great sense of humor and is very sarcastic. I love it. When it comes to her sarcasm, she and Paige have a great time hashing it out (or at least I think they have a great time; sometimes I can't tell through the sarcastic remarks).
    Sometimes, when Jane is calling her -whether on the phone or over FaceTime- Claire and I occupy ourselves by kidnapping her on whatever device she may be present on. Nicole loves us for it :).
    I wouldn't be surprised if Nicole grew up to be a professional detective. She is certainly good at what she does, and she does fish out information. I have never in my life found a ten year old so analytical.
    Along with all of her many other talents, Nicole is an amazing artist. Sometimes I like to torture her by sitting her down and forcing her to look at all my drawings, but I never grow tired of seeing all of hers. She is so talented in that department. If her professional detective career doesn't pan out I'm sure she could make it as an artist.
    Although, I'm not sure where Nicole stands on a friendship with me, I know I consider her to be a close friend of mine.

Who Is Nathaniel?

    I met Nathaniel not to long ago when he visited our homeschool group. We didn't become friends, however, until very recently.
     It was last winter at Bible quizzing practice when we really began to get to know each other. Partially because we both hung out with the same people and partially because Jane and Nicole are close friends (Nicole is Nathaniel's younger sister). Claire and I got to know Nathaniel more and more.
    Just a little while ago, we ran in a 5k together. That was actually pretty fun; despite the fact that it was running and the morning was rather chilly.
    I basically tripped him on a little hill by accident during the run, but other than that is was generally successful and all three of us did reasonably well in our age groups.
    He also has been a victim of my book readings and he hasn't been scared off yet, so I will continue calling him my friend.
    Nathaniel is funny, encouraging and has strange tastes in music, but he's an interesting friend to have around.

Who Is Paige?

    Paige, I have known since I was five, but she was always  Claire's friend. She and Claire played dolls together and talked on the phone for hours. They also talked about dolls and played dolls while they were on the phone.
    I remember picking up the other handset on our home phone and annoying those two while they gabbed. It was a lot of fun, but then I got banned from doing that. So, instead, one time I recorded myself singing a song (I wrote it myself) about how I could hear them talking. Then I put it outside Claire's door when she was on the phone with Paige and left. Occasionally, I came back to replay the recording.
    Later, I started to think of Paige as more of a friend, but she is still mostly an older sister figure to me. When I want advice on clothes or shoes or anything out of Claire's department, I ask Paige.
    Paige and I became closer when we connected over music. We wrote a few songs together and sang plenty of other ones. I also like to burden Paige with my books. So, I really appreciate her for reading them.
    Then she became a vegetarian, which doesn't bother me. However, instead of eating meat, she eats ranch dressing. Yes, this is sort of strange, but I honestly don't think she cares (I mean she obviously eats other things for protein), but she eats goldfish covered in ranch dressing, like soup.
    When one of my friends learned she was a vegetarian his simple response was, "I will pray for you everyday."
    Paige is not afraid to be her honest self and she's not afraid to tell other people the honest truth. She's really been a wonderful person in my life and I appreciate her very much.
    That's who Paige is to me.

Who is Claire?

    I have decided to write a "Who Is" on my blog. Today I am going to be writing a little bit about Claire.
    For starters, she is my sister. Ever since I was born it has been that way ;) and we've been tighter than glue. Now, as we get older we are becoming much more independent from each other. But still, as far as back as we can remember, we have never spent an entire day without seeing each other at least once.
    When I was younger, Claire was my partner in crime, but even though we were good friends we still didn't get along all of the time. Claire tells me that once we were playing Candy Land  (our favorite board game) and I hit her over the head with the board. Although, I have no idea why. We were probably having an argument.
    Of course, like any good sister, Claire snatched that board and slapped me on the head with it in return. I ran away and tattled, and Claire got in trouble.
    As we grew older I became extremely interested in writing. I dragged Claire in to many of my books and she was involved in coming up with many of the early plots.
    Most of those weren't very good or successful, but often times Claire was very encouraging and so I kept writing.
    Then she learned to drive. This is where the story turns dark, my friends. Claire got her hands on a steering wheel and as soon as she did I was, and I still am, more than ready to get my hands on the wheel of a car. But I have to wait two more years! I am not used to not being able to do everything Claire does, but I will adapt eventually.
    Around her friends she is quiet sometimes and other times full of her spunky enthusiasm. She has had most of the same friends over many years and I, as I'm sure most of her friends will agree, see her as a loyal and understanding friend.
    We are still good, close friends and she continues to sit through long dull readings of my books and I appreciate it more than I can put into words. Also, I had to endure two seasons of track, one season of basketball and a season of soccer on the cold hard bleachers, so I don't feel that bad for her.
    That's who Claire is to me.
