Our blueberries back home must be just about ready to be picked along with the raspberries and blackberries. It's sad we won't get to eat them, but then again we don't have to pick them :)
We arrived at Rainer National Park at almost noon and it took us a bit to find a way to the Paradise Rainier.
We did however finally arrive at Mount Rainier.
We went into the visitors center and walked around. Then we hiked up the mountain and turned onto a sort of side trail. We walked along the side of a snow covered river and the landscape was absolutely gorgeous.
We didn't finish the trail however because Dad and the dogs were waiting for us back in the camper and we weren't exactly sure where it lead. We went back to the visitors center and purchased a few items at the gift shop.
We left and continued through the park until we came to a trail that was near a creek. Sadly, the creek wasn't really in a position for wading and so we didn't hike very far on that trail before turning around and leaving.
I snapped a photo of Mount Rainer as clouds gathered around it's tip. There hadn't been any clouds there when we had arrived.
We drove a little while and I sat in the back seat with Jane. We stayed at a state campsite. When we were set up we headed down to the lake to wade. The campsite was very nice, but since we didn't go to the technical visitors beach the lake bottom was very rocky. We took the dogs down and skipped some rocks. We only brought Herbie and Sparky though because Rosie has a little trouble getting around sometimes.
We had a campfire and then we went to bed.
Until Next Time,
Katherine Rose
