Wednesday HodgePodge

1. How did you welcome the month of July, and tell us one fun thing you did to celebrate the 4th. (or the weekend for any non-USA residents playing along today)
We went to Mount Lassen and rode in the car a lot, but all we really did in particular to celebrate the fourth of July was catch a glimpse of fireworks from our car window.

2. Right now...what's your favorite red thing? white thing? blue thing?
My favorite red thing right now is my slightly used blanket (okay it's shredded), but I still love it. My favorite white thing are my white shorts which I am particularly thrilled with, just because of the fact that I finally have them and am allowed to wear them. The Ocean. I don't know if this counts as blue, but if it does it is my favorite.

3. Wave the white flag, raise a red flag, fly your freak flag...which 'flag' have you flown most recently? Explain.
The flag I have flown most recently is the red flag. Claire climbed into the drivers seat yesterday and although she drove fine it raised a red flag for me.

4. According to Cond Nast Traveler these are the seven best places to visit in July-

a boat safari in Botswanna's Okavango Delta, Riviera Maya Mexico (it's whale shark season and apparently you can swim with them), Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, Pamploma Spain, St. Petersburg Russia, the Fuji Rock Festival at Mount Naeba Japan, the Salzburg Festival in Salzburg Austria

If time and money weren't factors would you want to see any/all of these? Which would you most like to see and why?
I would possibly like to see the Salzburg Festival in Salzburg Austria, but I am pretty content with my home and the place I live and don't really care a whole lot for traveling to extremely far off places like different countries and such.

5. Grilled cheese, pimento cheese, or mac and cheese...your favorite from the cheesy treats listed?
I guess will say mac and cheese. However, even though I am a pretty big cheese fan I am really picky about my cheeses.

6. What makes you sweat?
Sports. All kinds of sports, sprinting, jogging, jumping.

7. Your favorite movie with a 'patriotic' theme of some sort?
This might sound a little wrong, but I can't think of one right now. I don't really watch a lot of movies though.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Imagine all the people in the world with the same name. Like Mary, Kathleen and Evan. If you sorted all the people in the world by sections, I wonder which name is most common and which one is most consistent, even which is the most uncommon. I wonder how many names each person knows and how many people they actually know by those names.
Who was the first man named John and why is it so popular? The whole thing is a little strange if you ask me.

Until Next Time,
    Katherine Rose
